Fractora RF

Rejuvenate & Restore Skin with a Versatile Fractional Skin Treatment

FRACTORA™ is the most advanced fractional radio-frequency treatment providing anti-aging improvements on skin tone and texture for a more radiant appearance through ablation and skin resurfacing.*

FRACTORA™ delivers RF energy to the skin through an array of pins producing localized heat and small micro-lesion dots in the treatment area. The gentle heat generated by the FRACTORA™ pins in the sub-dermal tissue promotes collagen restructuring for skin rejuvenation and an improved appearance in the skin. The methodical scattering of micro-lesions allows the skin to heal faster than if the entire area was ablated.*
Physicians can offer a versatile fractional treatment that can provide non-ablative to minimally ablative results up to 1mm in depth.*

FRACTORA™ can be used in areas that demonstrate fine or deep wrinkles, scars or discolored red and brown skin tone. The most common areas of treatment are the lower eyelid, upper eyelid, smile lines, cheeks, mouth and neck.*

RF energy heats the skin in a controlled schema to remodel deep collagen and improve the appearance of the skin.*

FRACTORA™ delivers improvements in the broadest range of symptoms of aging skin including fine lines, deep lines, texture, pigment irregularities, blood vessels and redness.
FRACTORA™ offers improvements for aging skin that would normally require two, three or even four different technologies.
Ablation of the skin promotes skin resurfacing while untreated skin between the pins promotes faster healing of the treatment tissue.

Fraxel Laser Treatment

Fraxel® Laser Treatment is designed to target aging and damaged skin by creating microscopic “wounds” within the targeted areas that penetrate well beneath the skin’s outermost layer. In this way, Fraxel® Laser treatments trigger the body’s own natural production of new collagen and skin cells. And because Fraxel® Laser Treatment combines the impact of ablative lasers with the gentleness of non-ablative lasers, healing occurs so quickly that there is very little downtime for patients.*
Fraxel Laser Treatments allow for quick healing with little downtime. After several years of studies and mounting evidence of the Fraxel® Laser’s safety and effectiveness, the FDA has cleared this unique new laser to treat the following conditions*:

  • Acne Scars
  • Age Spots/Brown Spots
  • Melasma (Mask of Pregnancy)
  • Wrinkles Around The Eyes
  • Stretch Marks

How Fraxel® Laser Treatment Works

Think of your skin as a family portrait or digital photograph in need of high-quality restoration or touch up.

Just as a damaged painting is delicately restored one small area at a time, or a photographic image is altered, pixel by pixel, Fraxel® Laser Treatment improves your appearance by affecting only a fraction of your skin at a time with thousands of tiny microscopic laser spots.*
Fraxel Laser Treatment produces thousands of tiny but deep columns of treatment in your skin, known as microscopic treatment zones. This treatment targets old epidermal pigmented cells. It also penetrates deep into the dermis. Just as important, though, are the areas of skin the Fraxel laser leaves untouched. For every microscopic zone the laser targets and treats intensively, it leaves the surrounding tissue unaffected and intact. This “fractional” treatment allows the skin to heal much faster than if the entire area were treated at once, using the body’s natural healing process to create new, healthy tighter tissue to replace skin imperfections.*

At your initial consultation, your physician will determine the best treatment plan for your desired results. Clinical studies suggest that on average, an effective treatment regimen is 3 to 5 sessions, spaced about 2 to 4 weeks apart. Depending upon your condition and schedule, you and your physician may choose to space treatment sessions even further apart. Results are immediate and progressive. Optimal improvement is usually visible in about 2 to 3 months. Because Fraxel Laser Treatment spares healthy tissue, it is effective even on delicate skin areas, such as the neck, chest and hands.*
Fraxel Laser Treatments can be performed with only topical anesthesia and procedures are designed with your maximum comfort in mind.

Preparing for Treatment

Fraxel Laser Treatment can be performed right in your doctor’s office using only topical anesthesia in most cases. If you are having a significant area of your skin treated, your doctor will develop a pain management approach to maximize your comfort during the procedure.*
The treatment area will be thoroughly washed prior to the procedure. A topical anesthetic ointment is applied to the treatment area approximately 60 minutes prior to treatment in order for the anesthetic to take full effect. The procedure takes between 20 to 25 minutes for a full face. The anesthetic ointment is washed off immediately after the treatment.*

What Happens After Treatment
You will experience a mild sunburn sensation for about an hour and then minimal discomfort. The skin will have a pinkish tone for 5 to 7 days. This is a normal sign that the skin is deeply healing. Swelling is minimal and generally resolves in 2 to 3 days.*
You may apply make-up or shave soon after treatment. Some patients are able to return to routine activities, including work and social obligations, the same day of treatment. Others require a little more time, depending upon their skin condition and treatment. Please consult your physician to understand how Fraxel Laser Treatment will fit into your schedule.

New epidermal skin develops within 24 hours. The process of skin repair involves*:
Bronzing: Your skin will have a bronze appearance that lasts anywhere from 3 to 14 days, depending on your treatment level.
Flaking: Your skin will naturally and vigorously exfoliate as new skin replaces dead tissue. Flaking is similar to that of minor sunburn, but without the associated pain. Use of a moisturizer will mask the appearance of flaking.
Sunscreen: Be sure to use sunscreen at least twice daily to protect your skin from sun exposure during both the healing phase and for several months after treatment. Apply a moisturizing sun block with an SPF of at least 30-plus. For added protection, use wide-brimmed hats when in direct sunlight.

Over the following weeks and months, the body repairs the deeper dermal tissues that have been affected by the Fraxel treatment, producing longer beneficial changes associated with a healthy, youthful appearance.*

Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels
The Chemical Peel has powerful ingredients that can treat all types of skin. The peel provides dramatic results that eliminate pain with no required preparation and minimal downtime. There is no need to wait weeks or months when you can achieve younger looking skin in one week.*
The peel improves skin tone and texture, reducing age spots, freckles, and hyper-pigmentation. These include melasma, lines, wrinkles, acne, and acne scars. It can also stimulate collagen production to create more firm and younger looking skin. The Peel can be used in conjunction with lasers and injectables.*

SkinMedica Rejuvenize Peel

Rejuvenize Peel uses advanced peeling agents with an anti-irritant and penetration enhancer. This allows the uppermost layers of damaged skin to be exfoliated and reveal healthier skin. Results can be achieved with little downtime required.*
It is effective for skin that has experienced sun damage, melisma, pigment changes, and acne scarring. Patients can experience a noticeable improvement with just one peel and is recommended for skin types I-VI.*

SkinMedica Vitalize Peel

The SkinMedica Vitalize Peel possesses all the benefits of alpha-hydroxy acids to provide effective results with gentle care. One peel can provide a noticeable improvement in skin texture and tone. A series of peels – performed 3 weeks apart – can create dramatic results. Patients will see reduced fine lines and a healthier appearance. Decreased pigmentation will also be possible, with a clearer, acne-free complexion.*

IPL Laser

Intense Pulsed Light (abbreviated IPL) describes the use of intense pulses of non-coherent light distributed over a range of wavelengths; from 400nm to 1200nm.

The technology utilizes specific wavelength ranges to target various chromophores in the skin. This enables effective treatment of a broad spectrum of conditions, including vascular and pigmented lesions, skin photoaging treatments and hair removal.

Broad spectrum pulsed light is transmitted through a continuously cooled applicator, gently placed over the skin. Cut-off filters in the handpiece change the range of wavelengths, optimizing it for different applications and skin types. The light penetrates the tissue and is absorbed by either the relevant chromophores and damages them (blood chromophores when treating vascular lesions and melanin chromophores when treating pigmented lesions). The body’s natural processes then clear the lesion debris, giving the skin a more even and youthful appearance.

PRP Therapy For Acne Scars / MicroNeedling

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections may improve the appearance of acne scars.

PRP injection therapy is a non surgical option to reduce acne scars using your own blood. Platelets contain more than 7-8 different growth factors which in turn stimulates the growth of your own blood supply and collagen at the injected sites.*

It takes approximately 4-6 weeks to see the maximum results and it lasts almost 2 years.* This procedure has been used for many years in Europe and it is FDA approved.

PRP is a groundbreaking, non-surgical approach that uses healing components of a patient’s own blood. Injected into scars, PRP therapy has the potential to speed up the healing process.*

Blood platelets contain potent growth factors necessary to begin tissue repair and regeneration at the acne scar location. Concentrated platelets contain large reservoirs of growth factors that have the potential to greatly accelerate the normal and natural healing process.*

MicroNeedling With PRP For Stretch Mark And Scar Reduction

Microneedling is used to puncture the skin and create a controlled dermal injury; therefore, it stimulates collagen and neocollagenesis. These micro needles create a channel deep into the skin. Without PRP, micro needling will stimulate (healing) or vascularization and collagenesis. Dr. Towhidian combines PRP Therapy with Microneedling by administering the PRP before and after the needling process. Using this technique, his patients have seen dramatic stretch mark and scar reduction.*

There is no need to worry about nodules or inflammatory response of your body because there are no foreign objects involved. Slight bruising or swelling might occur, which are temporary and will disappear after 2-3 days.*

Dr. Towhidian also uses PRP injections for facial rejuvenation.
