Thermal Skin Rejuvenation Treatment

Firm and plus offers an innovative skin treatment that precisely provides optimal skin contraction temperatures. ACE (Achieve, Control, Extend) is designed to create physician programmed optimal temperatures and maintain temperature for an extended thermal experience without overheating. This RF technology contains built-in safeguards that overcome the limitations of existing skin tightening devices and eliminates the need for external infrared thermometers.
The versatile fractional treatment offered by physicians provides non-ablative or minimally ablative results up to 1mm. RF energy will be used to heat the skin, remodeling deep collagen, and creating an enhanced skin appearance.

Science and Technology
Firm and Plus offers non-invasive sub dermal heating for collagen remodeling in two configurations. The RF current flows between electrodes to create a non-invasive thermal experience. ACE temperature controls are included to provide optimal epidermal temperatures and exclusive capacity for prolonged exposure at therapeutic temperatures.

Fractora lasers involve using radio-frequency lasers to create improvements to skin tone and texture, providing anti-aging benefits and a more radiant appearance.* RF energy is delivered to the skin through a number of pins, which produce localized heat and small microlesion dots. The heat promotes collagen production for skin rejuvenation and an improved appearance.*

  • Treats the broadest range of aging skin symptoms, including texture, pigment irregularities, fine lines, deep lines, blood vessels, and redness.*
  • Reduces the need for using multiple technologies*
  • Faster healing of treated tissue*

The versatile fractional treatment provides results up to 1mm in depth. Fractora can be used to treat areas with deep wrinkles, fine lines, scars, or red and brown skin.* The RF energy is applied in a controlled manner to remodel deep collagen and provide a cosmetic improvement.*
Fraxel Laser Treatment targets aging and damaged skin by creating small wound-like sensations that penetrate the outer layers of the skin. This triggers natural collagen production and skin cells. They are applied gently and do not result in extensive downtime for patients. The healing process will also progress very rapidly.*
Cleared by the FDA, Fraxel treats the following conditions:

    • Age spots
    • Acne scars
    • Melasma
    • Wrinkles around the eyes

How the Treatment Works
Fraxel improves your appearance by treating the skin one fraction at a time.* The laser produces thousands of tiny and deep columns in the skin, known as microscopic treatment zones. This reduces old pigment cells while penetrating deeper layers in the dermis. While the microscopic zone is targeted, the surrounding tissue is left unaffected and intact.*
Patients will see their skin heal faster and enjoy new, healthier, and tighter skin tissue.* An effective treatment period is between 3 to 5 sessions.* You will prepare for treatment by having a pain management plan developed by your doctor.* The treatment area will be cleaned and applied with a topical anesthetic ointment. The procedure for a full face will require 20-25 minutes.*
After treatment, you may experience a mild sunburn sensation for one hour and minimal discomfort.* The skin will also exhibit a pinkish color for 5-7 days.* You can wear make-up or shave soon after treatment and then return to your regular activities on the same day.* The new skin will develop within 24 hours, the entire process involves*:

Bronzing – The skin will have a bronze appearance between 3-7 days
Flaking – Old skin will exfoliate as new skin emerges. This creates very fine invisible flakes.
Sunscreen – Wearing sunscreen is recommended to protect the skin from sun exposure

The body will continue repairing dermal tissues until you see a healthy, younger looking appearance.*

*Individual results vary. Photos and reviews do not guarantee outcomes and no prediction of outcome is implied. Individual healing characteristics and unexpected complications can affect the outcome of any surgery or procedure.

Fraxel® Laser

Fraxel® Laser Treatment is designed to target aging and damaged skin by creating microscopic “wounds” within the targeted areas that penetrate well beneath the skin’s outermost layer. In this way, Fraxel® Laser treatments trigger the body’s own natural production of new collagen and skin cells. And because Fraxel® Laser Treatment combines the impact of ablative lasers with the gentleness of non-ablative lasers, healing occurs so quickly that there is very little downtime for patients.*
Fraxel Laser Treatments allow for quick healing with little downtime. After several years of studies and mounting evidence of the Fraxel® Laser’s safety and effectiveness, the FDA has cleared this unique new laser to treat the following conditions*:

      • Acne Scars
      • Age Spots/Brown Spots
      • Melasma (Mask of Pregnancy)
      • Wrinkles Around The Eyes
      • Stretch Marks

How Fraxel® Laser Treatment Works
Think of your skin as a family portrait or digital photograph in need of high-quality restoration or touch up.

Just as a damaged painting is delicately restored one small area at a time, or a photographic image is altered, pixel by pixel, Fraxel® Laser Treatment improves your appearance by affecting only a fraction of your skin at a time with thousands of tiny microscopic laser spots.*
Fraxel Laser Treatment produces thousands of tiny but deep columns of treatment in your skin, known as microscopic treatment zones. This treatment targets old epidermal pigmented cells. It also penetrates deep into the dermis. Just as important, though, are the areas of skin the Fraxel laser leaves untouched. For every microscopic zone the laser targets and treats intensively, it leaves the surrounding tissue unaffected and intact. This “fractional” treatment allows the skin to heal much faster than if the entire area were treated at once, using the body’s natural healing process to create new, healthy tighter tissue to replace skin imperfections.*

At your initial consultation, your physician will determine the best treatment plan for your desired results. Clinical studies suggest that on average, an effective treatment regimen is 3 to 5 sessions, spaced about 2 to 4 weeks apart. Depending upon your condition and schedule, you and your physician may choose to space treatment sessions even further apart. Results are immediate and progressive. Optimal improvement is usually visible in about 2 to 3 months. Because Fraxel Laser Treatment spares healthy tissue, it is effective even on delicate skin areas, such as the neck, chest and hands.*
Fraxel Laser Treatments can be performed with only topical anesthesia and procedures are designed with your maximum comfort in mind.

Preparing for Treatment
Fraxel Laser Treatment can be performed right in your doctor’s office using only topical anesthesia in most cases. If you are having a significant area of your skin treated, your doctor will develop a pain management approach to maximize your comfort during the procedure.*
The treatment area will be thoroughly washed prior to the procedure. A topical anesthetic ointment is applied to the treatment area approximately 60 minutes prior to treatment in order for the anesthetic to take full effect. The procedure takes between 20 to 25 minutes for a full face. The anesthetic ointment is washed off immediately after the treatment.*

What Happens After Treatment
You will experience a mild sunburn sensation for about an hour and then minimal discomfort. The skin will have a pinkish tone for 5 to 7 days. This is a normal sign that the skin is deeply healing. Swelling is minimal and generally resolves in 2 to 3 days.*
You may apply make-up or shave soon after treatment. Some patients are able to return to routine activities, including work and social obligations, the same day of treatment. Others require a little more time, depending upon their skin condition and treatment. Please consult your physician to understand how Fraxel Laser Treatment will fit into your schedule.
New epidermal skin develops within 24 hours. The process of skin repair involves*:

Bronzing: Your skin will have a bronze appearance that lasts anywhere from 3 to 14 days, depending on your treatment level.
Flaking: Your skin will naturally and vigorously exfoliate as new skin replaces dead tissue. Flaking is similar to that of minor sunburn, but without the associated pain. Use of a moisturizer will mask the appearance of flaking.
Sunscreen: Be sure to use sunscreen at least twice daily to protect your skin from sun exposure during both the healing phase and for several months after treatment. Apply a moisturizing sun block with an SPF of at least 30-plus. For added protection, use wide-brimmed hats when in direct sunlight.
Over the following weeks and months, the body repairs the deeper dermal tissues that have been affected by the Fraxel treatment, producing longer beneficial changes associated with a healthy, youthful appearance.*

PRP Therapy for Skin Rejuvenation

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections may improve the signs of aging skin.

PRP injection therapy is a non surgical option to rejuvenate your skin using your own blood. Platelets contain more than 7-8 different growth factors which in turn stimulates the growth of your own blood supply and collagen at the injected sites.*

It takes approximately 4-6 weeks to see the maximum results and may last almost 2 years.* This procedure has been used for many years in Europe and it is FDA approved.

PRP is a non-surgical treatment that uses components of a patient’s own blood. These platelets are injected into skin to stimulate collagen and revitalize blood supply.*

Concentrated platelets contain large reservoirs of growth factors that have the potential to greatly reduce the normal and natural aging process.*

MicroNeedling with PRP For Facial Rejuvenation

Dr. Towhidian combines PRP Therapy with Microneedling by administering the PRP before and after the needling process. Micro-Needling creates a channel for the PRP to absorb better and deeper, therefore; optimizing healing time and results. Using this technique, his patients have seen immediate firmness, radiant and much younger looking skin and less fine lines and sun damage.*

There is no need to worry about nodules or inflammatory response of your body because there are no foreign objects involved. Slight bruising or swelling might occur, which are temporary and will disappear after 2-3 days.*

Dr. Towhidian also uses PRP injections to provide scar reduction, and skin tightening.
